Recipes for Homemade Whole30 Seasoning Blends
Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite Whole30 seasoning blends. We all feel like we need to get back on track after the holidays, and this is one easy step in the right direction.
In my last post, I shared a list of places that give you rewards for your birthday. You can find that post here: Birthday Freebies.
My husband and I went on a mini day-date over the weekend. It was pretty awesome because we didn’t have to spend any money. Our birthdays are only 3 days apart, so we were able to go cash in some of our free birthday treats together.
After the birthday binge!
Yes, I ate sugar. Yes, I ate carbs. Yes, I had more caffeine than any human needs… Okay, so that wasn’t because of my birthday. However…
I have still been trying to make healthy food choices. I’ve still been cooking healthy meals at home and drinking lots of water. Yes, I had some treats, but I didn’t throw my healthy plans out the window. And I plan on getting right back on my Whole30, even though I’ll have to start over.
Actually, today is day two. Prayers are appreciated!
Hidden Ingredients
Most people don’t realize how much added sugar there is in the foods we consume. Everything from salad dressing to salsa to ketchup has added sugar. Not only that, but a lot of things have gluten products added to them, including spice blends.
Those little seasoning packets we use so often out of convenience can be full of sodium, too! Even those labeled as “reduced sodium” can have more than a homemade blend. So when my sister told me that she was limited her sodium intake, I took that as an invitation to make her some of my seasoning blends. She had already tried a few during the week she had visited and was pretty excited about having them when she got home!
So what do you do?
I choose to make a lot of my own products. Spice blends are an easy things to make for yourself. There’s no cooking involved and minimal tools are needed. I also think that these blends taste so much better than anything you can buy in a package.
Personally, I like to make a large amount of each blend and store them in jars. I can scoop out what I need, when I need it, without having to mix up a blend every time. It makes my life a little easier and a lot more delicious!
Below are some recipes that I love. The amount in each recipe is for only one serving. Not everyone wants to make up a big jar of seasoning (honestly, I can’t figure out why), so the recipes provided are for one serving. You can definitely multiply it as many times as your jar, and spice arsenal, will allow.

I know you’ll love these seasoning blends because my kids ask me for them over and over. Let’s face it. If kids like it, it’s got to be good! Do you have something that you prefer to make instead of buy? It could be for health reasons or just personal preference. I’d love to hear about it!
